Tasting notes
Our Cognac XO is finely structured, and at present, round and generous on tasting. A boiled fruity black cherry jam and lychee punch gives way to floral notes of iris and dried flowers. The liquer « Rancio Charentais » character emerges and develops in length, with notes of leather and tobacco.
What does XO mean in Cognac?
XO means Extra Old: the youngest eau-de-vie in the blend has aged at least ten years. This maturity brings structure, roundness and length.
What is rancio in this XO?
Rancio comes from the long conversation between eau-de-vie, oak and time. Here, it appears on the finish with leather, tobacco and dried-flower notes.
What should it be paired with?
Neat in a tulip glass, it naturally works with dark chocolate, almonds, orange desserts or an espresso.
